PIR sensors are used to detect motion from about 20 feet away.
It is affordable, simple to use and can easily be adopted into a system.
It has an adjustable delay before firing (approx 2-4s).
If anything moves after that period, the alarm pin will go low.
It also has high sensitivity and low noise.
There are two adjustable potentiometers on the module, you can use them to change the trigger sensitivity and the duration of the trigger signal.
This unit works great from 5 to 12V. You can also install a jumper wire past the 5V regulator on board to make this unit work at 3.3V.
It can be used in alarm and access control systems, motion-activated lighting, entry detection and robotics applications.
